Is Your Food Making You Sick?
Health foods are not healthy for everyone
Diet is important, but you cannot simply eat healthy to be healthy. Delayed food sensitivities could be a contributing factor for chronic health problems. Many times the unknown culprit is something we would never suspect, including certain ‘healthy’ foods.
The gut is responsible for 70-80% of our overall immune system… It is the gateway for our overall health
Food Sensitivities
Responsible for a variety of health issues
You could be suffering from food sensitivities, if you are constantly…
tired, moody, depressed, trouble sleeping, gaining weight, having GI issues, having trouble focusing, struggle with autoimmune disease, struggle with seasonal allergies, or just frustrated with your health.
Food sensitivities refers to a delayed-mediated response, which may take up to 72 hours to illicit a reaction. These reactions can be subtle and therefor hard to identify due to the delayed nature and systemic inflammation it causes:
1.
It triggers an inflammatory reaction within the gut.
2.
This in turn affects the integrity of the gut lining (increases permeability), allowing content within the gut to lack into the bloodstream.
3.
The immune system kicks into high gear, gets overworked, and is no longer able to function at its optimal level.
4.
As a result, we slowly start to develop a variety of symptoms and conditions ranging from fatigue to migraines to autoimmune diseases.
The mediator release test (MRT) is a comprehensive blood test to help determine which oral substances may cause global inflammation and trigger chronic symptoms at the cellular level. Over 170 substances (food, chemical, preservative, etc.) are tested for a mediator release response.
Delayed substance sensitivities have been linked to a variety of chronic symptoms and conditions; from migraines to autoimmune diseases.
The MRT food sensitivity test is truly the best way to identify any foods, chemicals and preservatives which may be harming your individual system.
The gut is responsible for 70-80% of our overall immune system.
For this reason Dr. Patel highly recommends the MRT.

Note: This in not your standard IgG, IgE antibody or allergy test (type 1 hypersensitivity).
The MRT is a comprehensive test which measures the release of intracellular mediators when antigens are present (type 3 & type 4 hypersensitivity), making it a more accurate technique for determining food related triggers.
The release of mediators (such as cytokines, leukotrienes, histamine, amines, prostaglandins, etc.) produce corresponding physiologic effects leading to symptoms and disease manifestations.
This test has reproducible accuracy of: 94.5% Sensitivity; 91.7% Specificity; Split sample reproducibility >90%
2. We prepare your requisition form (required lab orders).
3. The draw kit (with requisition form) will be mailed directly to you or the draw center near you.
